"Cinema is the most beautiful fraud in the world." - Jean-Luc Godard
The lovecinema mission
LoveCinema was born out of the need to share my love for movies with the world. Film is my life, my passion, my comfort, but it is hardly an escape from the real world or its problems, rather it is a teacher, and through film we learn of the follies of man, and how we should treat others. LoveCinema is about celebrating the artform of film and all that comes with it.
For me, few things can compare with the feeling that I get from watching a great film for the first time (or the second, third, fourth, etc.). In 2018 I spent almost 1,000 hours watching over 500 movies, a goal of mine that I had set before the year began. Sure, watching movies all day sounds pretty easy, but when you're on your 50th movie of the month it takes some real determination (or insanity!) to keep going. But in the end I had crossed 500 films off my list and I had gained some wonderful experiences. These experiences are very special to me and are something that I want to share with the world. Film is a window into the past, and can show us how much has changed and how we evolve as humans, or contrarily how little we’ve changed and how some issues still affect us to this day. My goal is to offer a diverse perspective of cinema, highlighting films from every era and from countries all over the globe. So please, join me on this journey as we celebrate the great classics of the past, and discover the exciting films of the future!
